About the Job
The Marketing Communications Manager will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of all spectrums of marketing, public relations, digital and social media functions for the U.S. Brands of the company. This role is responsible for managing daily relationships with outside PR and social media agency, as well as event planning and executing of all marketing initiatives designed to build brand awareness – including new product launches, larger scale national and local market events. In addition, the Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for creating all digital content and oversees proper functionality of the brand websites, including the professional and e-commerce website. The Marketing Communications Manager is also the lead copywriter for all brands. He or she oversees and ensures the vision and voice in all copy publication. This position reports to the Vice President of Marketing.
MARKETING & PR
- Assist in devising and deploying 360° communication campaigns to develop the reputation and image of the brands
- Work closely with Marketing team to determine which initiatives are best served by Public Relations
- Point person and daily contact with PR and Social Media agency
- Collaborate with Marketing team to develop “newsworthy” stories and story angles geared towards hairstylists, make-up artists and consumers
- Oversee social media agency to develop social media channel presence, strategy, content, messaging and reputation management
- Analyze PR agency results – closely monitor and quantify press coverage and generate ad-hoc competitor analysis
- Work with Marketing, Creative, PR agency and Consultant to develop press kits, videos, invitations and collateral
- Special Event Planning and Execution for product press launches and other key strategic brand events ie. Fashion Week
- Manage all special events, promotional events, and corporate events
- Research and network to identify appropriate co-marketing, promotional activities, partnerships, and celebrity outreach/seeding
- Act as a brand ambassador, building relationships with key industry contacts
- Manage product closet (inventory), all collateral, and press materials
- Manage expenses and track ongoing PR budgets and forecasts
- Communicate and promote PR activities and results to the sales force and internal staff
DIGITAL
- Oversee and manage the ongoing evolution of websites working with Global Digital team in France, Digital Director and third party consultants
- Responsible for website content management, strategic online marketing activity and digital customer engagement
- Work closely with third party consultants and Creative to create compelling design and layout templates for email marketing campaigns to ensure they are engaging and drive open rates/click throughs
- Conduct regular reviews and constantly strive to keep all content engaging, up to date, accurate and optimized
- Monitor site traffic, page views, clicks and conversion rates in order to improve site presentation and performance
- Work on SEO, organic search, online advertising placements and innovative digital marketing activity
- Coordinate e-newsletter content assembly, technical functionality and tactical scheduling to support sales objectives and new customer recruitment
COPYWRITING
- Lead copywriter for all brands
- Develop and ensure that all copy assets developed for the U.S. brands are consistent and representative of the brands strategic objectives and creative direction
- Copy assets to be developed include product names, advertising headlines and concepts, consumer brochure copy, consumer direct mail, packaging descriptions and product dossiers. Online copy development includes consumer email, and brand site copy.
- Responsible for many day-to-day decisions in relation to copy consistency across all materials and elements created
- Ensure content development for all additional online retailers including Sephora.com, Beauty.com and other sites ensuring they are consistent with creative direction
Experience and skills:
· Proven track record in multichannel marketing and communication in the fields of PR/Marketing/Digital Communications, with experience in a similar role, ideally within the beauty or luxury retail sector
· Experience of managing external PR agencies and budgets or working at PR agency
· Possess excellent communication, social and networking skills
· Proactive, enthusiastic and flexible nature
· Attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and project manage changes
· Creative flair, including excellent copywriting and editing skills
· Autonomous, able to work under minimum supervision
