JOB: RIGHTS & CLEARANCES INTERN


JOB DESCRIPTION

CBS Sports Network, a division of CBS Sports, is the original 24-hour cable network dedicated to college sports. CBS Sports Network covers more than 300 live games annually, showcasing 30 men's and women's sports, in addition to a variety of studio shows, documentaries and original programs. The Network s live programming is highlighted by teams from the Mountain West, Conference USA, Atlantic 10, Patriot League, the United States Naval Academy and the United States Military Academy. CBS Sports Network is also the home for U.S. Service Academy football, featuring all Army and Navy home games, as well as several Air Force games every season.CBS Sports Network is the 24-hour cable home of CBS Sports. The Network covers more than 350 live games annually, showcasing more than 30 men’s and women’s sports, in addition to a variety of studio shows, documentaries and original programs. CBS Sports Network’s live programming is highlighted by college sports and also features professional lacrosse, Professional Bull Riding (PBR), the sports news and commentary shows ROME and LEAD OFF, the weekly studio show NFL Monday QB and the Tim Brando Show.


- Work alongside the Rights & Clearances Manager to maintain cleared content for CBS Sports Network

- Participate in clip acquisition, reviewing programming and research, including research for CSN's writers and producers

- Maintain clearance logs for all requests for third party images and video

- Process third party clip, image and music requests from the Production and Marketing Departments

- Review print advertisements or promotional spots for potential clearance issues

*ALL INTERNSHIPS ARE FOR ACADEMIC CREDIT ONLY. Internship offers are contingent upon receipt of a letter on school letterhead verifying credit eligibility.


Qualifications

· Strong interest in business affairs, television production and sports
· Current undergraduate student (junior or senior)
· 2.50 GPA or above
· Ability to obtain college academic credit
· Superior communication and interpersonal skills
· Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Able to work in a fast- paced environment under deadlines
· Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
· Ability to work and prioritize work assignments
· Able to provide administrative support as needed

Preferred Qualifications
· Active participation in extracurricular activities; clubs; and/or associations. Leadership positions while maintaining an above-average GPA, a plus

· Prior internship experience in a related field


Additional Information
- Internships are in New York, NY. Selected students must be willing to relocate or commute at their own expense

We are looking for passionate students to join our winning team during the Spring 2014 semester. Interested students must be able to commit to two full days per week. This is an UNPAID, FOR-CREDIT ONLY internship program. And, proof of credit eligibility and course enrollment from an accredited academic institution must be provided prior to start date.
Our network’s internships are professional and learning experiences. As such, they present priceless opportunities for undergraduate students that want to learn the workings of a fast-paced, innovative, and growing cable network.
