Our client seeks a strong SQL programmer consultant with Python in Jersey City, NJ.
No third party staffing firms please!
The SQL will be used to perform some complex calculations, and optimizing large data sets. Huge Plus if the candidate has an Insurance (P&C) background.
Accountable for application development supporting business objectives while providing expertise in software development lifecycle phases from concept and design to testing.
Analyze complex designs and build component-based applications in a web/internet delivery environment, including introduction of an application layer, modeling techniques, component and object-oriented design, complex algorithmic coding, and systematic approaches to application integration.
Work on new and existing applications along with enhancements to websites, web applications, and infrastructure.
Demonstrate hands-on coding leadership through productivity and high quality of outputs as measured by low defect rates and efficiency of code execution.
Perform hands-on coding, and assist in architecting web content solutions.
Serve as liaison to internal customers, research groups and various business support areas.
Scope, implement, test and deploy new features and versions of core applications, databases and utilities for complex applications.
Debug and maintain deployments of core applications, databases and utilities.
Instruct, guide, and mentor junior-level programmers.
Lead in design and technical meetings, and provide technical consultation to internal business and design teams.
Partner with various information services support units.
Coordinate activities with end-users and business areas.
Create clear and comprehensive component/sub-system documentation.
Skills Required:
Strong working knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle, including demonstrated leadership in adapting methods to assigned projects.
Ability to execute complex software patches and upgrades.
Solid understanding of object-oriented design concepts and software development processes and methods.
Expertise in structured application analysis, design and database practices.
Expert understanding of various technologies including web architecture, database development and application servers.
Strong proficiency in SQL and Python. Possible Java web site development in the future.
Expertise in big data computing terminology and concepts.
Leadership and productivity in a team development environment, proactively contributing expertise to problem solving.
Effectiveness in troubleshooting and maintaining complex applications.
Solid understanding of Unified Modeling Language (UML) tools and how they are applied to Object Oriented design.
