Director, Area Sales

Position Overview
Designs and executes sales operations for VNSNY CHOICE, both Medicaid Managed Long Term Care and Medicare Advantage products. Provides input for the development of sales incentive plans, establishes productivity targets, establishes enrollment goals, oversees sales forecasts, facilitates internal and external sales and product education, and ensures compliance with relevant DOH and CMS sales regulations.
· Establishes monthly and annual enrollment goals and oversees the development of sales forecasts across all channels: field, self-generated and telephonic.
· Ensures Enrollment Outreach Liaisons and Community Liaisons have the tools, training and support needed to achieve monthly targets.
· Develops effective working relationships with the leadership of key referral sources such as community based organizations, the provider community, religious organizations and other appropriate channels to grow new membership.
· Directs competitive and strategic analyses that identify VNSNY CHOICE’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, as well as assesses the product’s competitive position within the marketplace.
· Ensures effective staff training, evaluates staff performance, provides input for the development of the department budget, and hires/promotes/terminates staff and recommends salary actions as appropriate.
Requirements: Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree in business administration or health care related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of five years of managed Medicare and/or Medicaid sales required. Minimum of two years of sales management within a managed care environment required. Experience marketing to a culturally diverse target population required. Experience with writing and implementing program level policy and procedures required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Strong analytic skills including knowledge of SWOT, Gap and Competitive analysis required. Business acumen including a deep knowledge of relevant regulations required. Strong organizational skills required. Proficiency with computer and software programs (e.g.; Microsoft Word, Excel) and the Internet required. Existing relationships with key potential referrers preferred. Experience with new product development/start-up preferred.
