Day Porter
Purpose:
Performs various support and assists in functions in conjunction with cleaning, material handling, tool storage and delivery, janitorial & ground duties throughout the building. Responsible to maintenance supervisor and customer’s representative. Receives and responds to service calls, takes immediate action to resolve emergency.
Responsibilities• Reports to Supervisor or assigned trades worker.
• Stocks restrooms on an as needed basis.
• Cleans specialized areas on a scheduled basis.
• Responds to service calls involving spot cleaning, cleaning spills, trash removal, etc.
• Clean-up of water from plumbing fixture overflows
• Cleans lobby entrances, remove finger prints and clean glass, maintain walk off mats
• Graffiti removal from exterior and interior walls
• Runs errands.
• Maintains cleanliness in and around all Building Operations Services facilities (Building Operations Services office, shops, boiler room, chiller room, electrical room, mechanical rooms, etc.).
• Provides non-scheduled janitorial services, grounds keeping and snow removal as necessary.
• Overtime and shift work maybe required
• Perform any additional duties on an as required basis where such duties are within the scope of contractual obligations.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma
• Three years experience common custodial services
• Strength and dexterity to perform physically demanding duties as outlined.
• Valid driver’s license as required to drive any vehicles which maybe assigned.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures typical of janitorial operations
