The SRS Distribution Management Training Program is designed to teach through a mentoring process. If you are selected for this program, you will be paired with an experienced mentor who will help you learn all aspects of the business, such as learning products, logistics, sales, credit, purchasing, finance, safety, HR and customer service. You will also learn about our culture and our core values so that you can rise to the position of Branch Manager and beyond.
- Introductory Phase:
Management Trainees will spend time in each branch area of operation to get a general introduction to our business and then will spend time as needed in each major functional area to learn the business in detail.
Gain knowledge and experience regarding how to manage an SRS distribution center by mastering the following subject areas:
- Warehouse: Load trucks, operate forklift, handle SKU’s, receive products, establish proof of delivery, handle communication issues and safety, etc.
- Delivery: Ride with drivers, assist in deliveries, become familiar with DOT regulations, fleet maintenance, rooftop loading, observe dispatching, etc.
- Product Knowledge: Learn SRS products through “hands on" experience, on-line training courses and vendor sponsored training events.
- Software: Learn ERP system and other software.
- Inside Sales: sell customers over the phone and at the counter.
- Outside Sales: work as Territory Manager in outside sales territory.
- Branch Financial Performance: Review branch’s financial performance each week learning the “fine points" and inter-workings among all aspects of our business such as credit, billing, purchasing, branch accounting, HR, safety, fleet, budgeting, sales, operations, etc.
The Management Trainee Program is designed to last 12 – 18 months allowing you to experience all aspects of the Branch Manager position and to provide you with the foundational skills necessary for future advancement inside SRS Distribution. Each branch is different and thus the suggested assignments and time lines may vary within each branch.

- College degree is required (prefer major in Industrial Distribution or Supply Chain, but not mandatory);

- Computer skills and math aptitude;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record;
- Ability to lift on occasion building materials;
- Excellent prior work references/academic record;
- Pass relevant criminal background check;
- Provide proof of legal work status in USA.; and
- Pass pre-employment drug test.
