About the Job
The Role:
This role is based within the Central Business Function of the company. Working very closely with the Data Center and IT teams, the role will be responsible for processing all goods and services procured by the business unit.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the purchasing process for all technology related expenses using SAP, including price negotiation, issuing of POs, and working with accounting to ensure that invoices are paid in a timely manner
- Maintaining vendor relationships to ensure responsive service and timely resolution of all issues.
- Maintaining calendars of service, contract, maintenance, warranty, lease, and license renewals.
- Reporting on expenses and assisting in developing technology budgets.
- Asset tracking and reporting.
- Provide detailed spend reports to management and finance using Excel and SAP reporting tools.
- Create spend forecasts and then monitor these against actual spend.
- Interact with SAP Procurement specialists in other Regions to develop procedures globally.
- Raising and settling invoice queries with suppliers.
- Processing of internal requisitions while adhering to Service Levels Agreements.
- Partner with suppliers to place orders.
- Analysis of quotes for goods and services.
- Build strong working relationships both internally and with key suppliers.
- Order tracking and providing regular status updates.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a purchasing role that preferably includes technology and telecom purchasing.
- Minimum 2 years of accounting and invoice processing within procurement/purchasing environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing vendor relationships.
- Be proactive and able to work on own initiative or within a team environment.
- Be PC literate: including sound knowledge of Excel and a strong knowledge of SAP within a procurement/purchasing environment.
- Excellent analytical ability with a keen attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new skills and work to tight deadlines.
- The ability to identify potential issues and suggest areas for process improvement.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to identify customers' requirements and provide a high level of customer service.
- Able to maintain a can do attitude and flexible approach within a fast paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing vendor relationships.
- Understanding of basic accounting including expense allocation, capitalization, amortization, and depreciation.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Unimpeachable integrity.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
