Immediate contract opportunity for Sr. Network Security Engineer / Architect with direct client in Queens, NY.
Description:
The incumbent shall perform various tasks related to service requests received by OICT, which includes administration of firewall infrastructure, the RSA authentication servers, DNS/DHCP servers and web proxy servers. Tasks will include both on-going support, such as problem solving and configuration changes, and project implementation, such as upgrades and new deployments.
Specific responsibilities: 1. Prepare implementation procedures and other technical documentation;
2.Install network security systems, such as firewalls, proxies, DNS/DHCP servers and authentication servers.
3. Update the rule sets of firewalls and content filtering systems.
4. Update the configuration for DNS and DHCP servers.
5. Maintain network security systems.
6. Verify and analyze security logs
7. Assist in procurement, preparing technical specifications and evaluation criteria;
8. Monitor systems performance;
9. Participate in network security support services;
10 Advise users on their network security needs;
11. Develop training materials and conduct training sessions on network security topics;
Qualifications and Requirements:2. Hands-on experience with the following technologies:
a. Enterprise firewalls;
b. RSA Authentication Manager;
c. Linux Servers, including DNS and DHCP servers;
d. Squid proxy servers.
3. 5+ years of experience in firewall and network security administration;
4. 3-5 years of experience in a large data center environment;
5. Ability to write scripts in shell or perl;
