Job: Sales & Education Executive, New Jersey

Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the sell-in and sell-through of Origins brands to our retail partners and consumers to achieve annual sales projections.  Select, train, educate, and motivate a highly productive team of guides.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build and foster retailer relationships to sell Origins programs to store and department counters and management.

  • Represent and communicate the Origins mission and objectives

  • Successfully execute marketing programs on all levels.

  • Maximize employees’ productivity through education, communication and event execution. Focus on key doors.

  • Achieve fiscal budgets including; retail sales, net shipments, return, T&E, and demonstration.

  • Complete understanding and ability to execute: stock/sales plan, marketing/sales programs, seasonal and special events, and in-store presentation.

  • Deliver, communicate, and ensure sales objectives are met for assigned region.

  • Teach, motivate and develop Guides through the process of coaching strengths, sales education, and the execution of Origins sales and marketing programs and product launches.

  • Find and implement business solutions for retail stores and counters.

  • Manage, teach, direct, and monitor all education in territory including learning centers, new product launches, advanced product knowledge, selling and service schools, etc.

  • Coach managers and employees with regard to career development strategies and techniques.

  • Responsible for training new field managers on education.

  • Works closely with the Regional Marketing Director and Education Development Managers to identify and determine opportunities for additional education in territory.

  • Focus, develop, and execute 100% customer service.

  • Attain turnover objectives by focusing efforts on reducing turnover at the store/counter manager and guide levels.

  • Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of training and development and education programs.

  • Seek and continuously develop knowledge and information about competitor activity, pricing and tactics, and communicate this to relevant departments in the Company.

  • Coaching in store throughout region based on needs. (i.e. Customer complaints, low IPT or AUS, %to scrubs, linking etc).

  • Prepare budgets and develop the administrative framework required to support education, training, and development programs and initiatives; formulate policies, procedures and schedules to support education and training operations and initiatives.

  • Achieve return goals outlined in the bonus strategy.

  • Successfully execute marketing programs on all levels.

  • Maximize Guide’s productivity through education, communication, and event execution. Focus on top door strategy.

  • Ensure Guide’s understanding and commitment of the sales and marketing program to achieve corporate goals.

  • Assist retailer in creatively sourcing, interviewing, and hiring the best-fit candidates for Store/Counter Manager, Assistant Manager, and Guide level positions.

  • Partners with Corporate on communications and marketing initiatives. 

  • Achieve fiscal budgets, which include retail sales, net shipments, return, T/E, selling costs, and demonstration. Complete understanding and ability to execute: stock/sales plan, marketing/sales programs, seasonal and special events, and in-store/counter presentation.

  • Provide timely communication of general business information and specific account issues with proposed recommendations to Regional Marketing Director.

  • Ensure administrative responsibilities are handled accurately and in a timely manner.




  • Degree or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years retail background (beauty industry preferred).

  • Ability to lead and motivate others.

  • Excellent decision making skills and judgment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues at various levels.

  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks.                                                                       

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
