About the Job
We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician for a doctor’s office in Suffolk County, Long Island.
This is a part-time position at a well-established medical practice, which has been operating for over 30 years.
Hours: 20-25 hours per week
Responsibilities:
· Perform ophthalmic tech work, such as (i) taking visions, (ii) reading glasses prescriptions, (iii) performing autorefractions and (iv) administering diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT’s and IOL calculations
· Assist with administrative work such as (i) answering phones and making appointments, (ii) maintaining weekly deposits of insurance and patient payments, (iii) ordering supplies and (iv) securing referrals for patients
Desired Qualifications/Experience:
· Previous experience working in an Ophthalmology office required
· High computer literacy required (knowledge of Medcomp computer software and EMR systemshighly desirable)
· Highly organized
· Detail oriented
· Patient / friendly attitude
· Collaborative and cheerful in a team setting
· High level of integrity
Applicant should have significant experience performing theresponsibilities outlined above.
Training on office systems will be provided.
