Job: Marketing Lead, Buildings US

Responsibilities:
Practice Marketing Strategy Development and Implementation
This position works closely with Regional, Practice and Sector Leadership to lead/facilitate/provide direction and input to the development of the annual integrated Practice MBD Plan to support Stantec’s corporate and regional goals for revenue growth, profitability, and market leadership in our selected target markets at the Practice level. The PAML oversees and manages the implementation of the approved national promotional plans and budget using a mix of marketing tools including advertising, client events, media and government relations, community investment, professional and business associations and events, social media, direct mail/eDM, conferences/tradeshows, and others as defined.

Brand Management / Public and Government Relations
This position works closely with the Practice Leadership team to assess Stantec’s market positioning at the National level through primary and secondary market research, and develops/implements communications strategies and plans to move the local office and/or Region toward the achieving the desired market positioning.

The PAML attends key business, community, political and fund raising functions to represent Stantec’s senior leadership team in establishing and supporting Stantec’s leadership role in the business community.

Business Development and Account ManagementThis position provides expertise, training, coaching and support directly to practitioners throughout the practice in account management, business development and opportunity pursuit strategy.
  • Provide input on the marketing and business development plans for the PCs within the Practice Area
  • Plays a key role in developing specific strategies for client and related event coordination, project opportunity / lead tracking, and major or multi-disciplinary proposals in support of account management
  • Responsible for the development and execution of Practice Area marketing strategies and related activity as identified in the marketing and business plan
Marketing System Support/LeadershipThe PAML will ensure appropriate representation through development and coordination of content for Stantec's communications systems and tools including the Stantec Marketing Knowledge Center (SMKC), stantec.com, StanNet and Inform in support of both internal and external promotion of service offerings throughout the practice area.
The consistent use of the Stantec Pipeline in support of account management and business development efforts is also required
Qualifications:
 Education/Experience:
  • Post Secondary in business, marketing, communications, public relations or an equivalent level of experience
  • Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in a senior marketing role in a medium to large sized organization
Other Requirements:
  • Experience in the Education and Science and Technology fields an asset
  • Detail oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills
  • Ability to effectively balance conflicting priorities
  • Demonstrated proficiency with web-based tools and Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer
  • Working knowledge in the use of desktop publishing software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat and Distiller
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior management, supervisors, peers and clients, internally and externally
  • Excellent interviewing, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills in small or large group environments, with proficiency in presentation support tools (e.g., PowerPoint)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of marketing and business development best practices
  • Ability to work effectively within a group with 'team spirit' as well as independently motivated with minimal supervision
  • Ongoing training may involve professional development courses in the evenings or on weekends
