The SRS Distribution Management Training Program is designed to teach through a mentoring process. If you are selected for this program, you will be paired with an experienced mentor who will help you learn all aspects of the business, such as learning products, logistics, sales, credit, purchasing, finance, safety, HR and customer service. You will also learn about our culture and our core values so that you can rise to the position of Branch Manager and beyond.
  1. Introductory Phase:

    Management Trainees will spend time in each branch area of operation to get a general introduction to our business and then will spend time as needed in each major functional area to learn the business in detail.

        2.    Other Phases after Introduction:

    Gain knowledge and experience regarding how to manage an SRS distribution center by mastering the following subject areas:
    • Warehouse: Load trucks, operate forklift, handle SKU’s, receive products, establish proof of delivery, handle communication issues and safety, etc.

    • Delivery: Ride with drivers, assist in deliveries, become familiar with DOT regulations, fleet maintenance, rooftop loading, observe dispatching, etc.



    • Product Knowledge: Learn SRS products through “hands on" experience, on-line training courses and vendor sponsored training events.



    • Software: Learn ERP system and other software.



    • Inside Sales: sell customers over the phone and at the counter.



    • Outside Sales: work as Territory Manager in outside sales territory.



    • Branch Financial Performance: Review branch’s financial performance each week learning the “fine points" and inter-workings among all aspects of our business such as credit, billing, purchasing, branch accounting, HR, safety, fleet, budgeting, sales, operations, etc.







    The Management Trainee Program is designed to last 12 – 18 months allowing you to experience all aspects of the Branch Manager position and to provide you with the foundational skills necessary for future advancement inside SRS Distribution. Each branch is different and thus the suggested assignments and time lines may vary within each branch.

    OBJECTIVE:
    The District Manager's responsibility is the development and management of Sales Representatives with the goal of maximizing product volume and achieving sales goals. This role is responsible for leading, coaching, developing and managing activities of Sales Representatives within a specific geographical assignment. The District Manager is responsible for providing effective coaching in assertive selling skills and territory management in order to assist representatives in gaining access to key decision makers and influencing prescribing behavior to impact sales results across the Takeda portfolio of products.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    • Execute business strategies across the product portfolio to achieve sales results.

    • Leverage knowledge of industry and local market challenges and opportunities within geography. Consistently conduct business analysis, develop and maintain a current district business plan in order to execute business strategies to achieve sales results.

    • Conduct effective field rides with sales representatives in order to provide coaching on assertive selling skills, territory management, pre and post-call planning, total office call, clinical role plays, analyzing business trends, identifying business opportunities, resource utilization, routing, targeting and best practices.

    • Execute a coaching continuum plan for every field ride session concluding with a written Field Coaching Log which accurately and clearly communicates competency strengths and areas of development, business goals, and action items.

    • Implement sales and marketing programs to support Takeda’s plans for  growth in the assigned district.

    • Recruit, screen, and hire top talent for the assigned district. Create an environment of learning and growth for long term success, development and retention of talent.

    • Foster ownership and accountability to achieve or exceed individual and company goals. Take a portfolio and overall footprint mindset to maximize district effectiveness. 

    • Establish open and honest communication with subordinates, peers, manager and senior leadership.

    • Provide consistent and accurate expectations and feedback to representatives as part of an ongoing performance management process through timely assessment of performance using measurable outcomes.

    • Proactively identify problems/opportunities and solutions for addressing performance issues in order to maximize representatives’ full potential.

    • Provide market place information on product portfolios to Sales Directors and Brand Teams.

    • Work with Regional Accounts Managers to stay up to date on managed market issues in district, implement initiatives to maximize sales, and execute pull through initiatives.

    • Serve as liaison with other functions, as well as other sales and marketing personnel.

    • Perform Company business in accordance with all regulations and Company policies and procedures.

    • Additional duties as assigned.


    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    Required:
    • Bachelors degree

    • 3 years of pharmaceutical sales/marketing experience, or 3 years in health-care related field including nursing or pharmacy.
    Preferred:
    • 3+ years of previous management or account management experience. 
    LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
    • Valid driver's license.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    • Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.) 
    • Ability to sit for long periods of time 
    • Carrying, handling, and reaching for objects 
    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings/client sites  - overnight travel requirements vary by geography.  Some international travel may be required.

    POSITION SUMMARY


    Design, develop, implement, and maintain operational systems, methods, and techniques to support Pricing and Yield Management activities and responsibilities in the field and at the regional and corporate levels.     Responsibilities:
    Practice Marketing Strategy Development and Implementation

    • Provide input on the marketing and business development plans for the PCs within the Practice Area

    • Responsible for the development and execution of Practice Area marketing strategies and related activity as identified in the marketing and business plan

    Qualifications:
     Education/Experience:
    • Post Secondary in business, marketing, communications, public relations or an equivalent level of experience
    • Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in a senior marketing role in a medium to large sized organization
    Other Requirements:
    • Experience in the Education and Science and Technology fields an asset
    • Detail oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills
    • Ability to effectively balance conflicting priorities
