Description
Janssen Scientific Affairs, L.L.C.is recruiting for a Manager, Training & Program Management to be located in either Raritan, NJ or Titusville, NJ. This position will have overall responsibilities for the planning, implementation, and management of training for Janssen Scientific Affairs(SA)/Medical Affairs (MA) and provide systems/software support related to training.

Responsibilities in the 3 areas below include the following.
Program Development & Implementation:
Assist in the development, implementation, and oversight of Janssen SA/MA learning strategy and vision.
Partner with internal customers/vendors in the design and development of training and training materials (training plan, course outline, knowledge assessments, instructional materials and tools) using sound instructional systems design methodology.
Develop training plan and timelines to meet strategic plan goals.
Apply assessment tools to ensure validity of assessment and effectiveness of training programs.
Identify, coordinate and schedule presenters for training.
Liaise with internal J&J departments and external groups to optimize technology, opportunities and to maximize compliance.
Recommend innovative and effective training programs, delivery systems and assessment tools not currently in use.
Lead or assist training of small and large groups as needed.
Curriculum and Competency Development and Assessment:
Establish curricula with Janssen SA/MA Leadership (i.e., new hire training, therapeutic, product, compliance training, professional development, continuous education training and other areas as identified).
Update curricula on an ongoing basis.
Partner with leadership to develop, validate and implement competency models.
Training Administration and Systems/Software Support:
Manage the Job Description and CV collection/review process.
Support Learning Management Systems (e.g., ComplianceWire, eUniversity): Communication; Training course lifecycle (including but not limited to course setup Assignment, tracking, reporting and quality check of training data); Troubleshooting; User group participation.
Provide training quality metrics to management.
Seek out ways to provide credits for courses when possible.
Provide expertise on optimal Training Program Delivery systems (instructor-led, web-based, live, CD, video, etc.) and ensure optimal use of resources.
Evaluate new training tools or technology.
Recommend innovative and effective training programs, delivery systems and assessment tools.
Guide others in the proper application of distance learning and adult learning principles to ensure effective training materials are developed.
Liaise with other J&J personnel responsible for training to optimize technologies, best practices and tools. Apply assessment tools to ensure validity of assessment and effectiveness of training programs.
Support the Document Lifecycle Management Director in decision-making process regarding training investments and priorities.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelors degree required; Advanced degree preferred. Three to five years training experience with strong working knowledge in Learnining Management Systems platforms (e.g., eUniversity and ComplianceWire) required. Experience in the design and development of training and training materials highly desired. Hands-on experience working in a GxP/regulated environment desired. Familiarity with different means of training program delivery including classroom, web-based, blended training programs highly preferred. Excellent project management skills is required. Experience in organizational development and adult education is desired.
The incumbent must demonstrate proficiency in effective interpersonal communication skills, fosters teamwork, and provide continuous improvement and innovation. The position requires an energetic and enthusiastic person who is willing to work hard and capable of building a strong network with various resources. Excellent presentation skills and excellent verbal and written communications are a must.
Knowledgeable in learning technologies and tools (e.g., Lectora, Adobe Captivate, Flash, etc), Webpublisher and databases) and Microsoft Excel are strongly preferred.
The qualified candidate will have experience accurately evaluating training needs for diverse groups (internal and external customers) and determine the most effective way of delivering training programs; evaluating vendor strengths and weaknesses to recommend directions to leadership; exploring and integrating new methods and ideas for training program delivery and assessment; seeking new ways to provide value to internal and external customers.
The position can be based in either Raritan or Titusville, NJ and will require travel to other J&J locations within NJ & PA (~25%) for meetings or training.
