Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Manager, Storage Area Network (SAN) and Net Backup (NBU). This position will be based in Raritan, NJ and may require up to 10% travel.

The Manager, Storage Area Network (SAN) and Net Backup (NBU) will be responsible for managing provisioning of Storage Area Network and Net Backup with an emphasis on the infrastructure supporting specific corporate applications. The position requires experience across a broad range of Datacenter functions such as availability, disaster recovery, and networking and storage area networks.
Candidate must be able to oversee complex SAN and NBU deployment projects with minimal supervision. Must work well within a team environment and communicate well to a diverse set of colleagues. Must be able to automate and document routine tasks for provisioning teams.
Other responsibilities of this position include the following: Create/Update GxP qualification documents for new and existing storage architectures. This includes items as IQ/OQ, WI's, and Installation documents; Maintain a stable, predictable, and scalable Storage environment to protect business critical data; Work closely with GDC (Operations) to maintain current infrastructure with required new releases; Technical Leadership with solution deployment and methodology; Designs and provisions storage to systems as required through rotational standby support; Be a part of a team environment and communicate clear, concise messages to Internal Teams, IT and Functional Leadership on operations and provisioning activities; Ensure conformance to established system architecture, methods, regulations, standards and practices; Assure consistency with business objectives for resiliency, disaster tolerance, and regulatory compliance; Ensures performance, & SAN connectivity are available and prepares, schedules, & documents storage assignments w/ system administrators, related infrastructure teams, & management staff through a regulatory change management system & other documentation; Escalates and follows incidents with senior management and other J & J agencies to ensure capacity management, data storage integrity, and performance service level objectives are met; Manage the Storage solution implemented within J&J’s Enterprise Data Center infrastructure; Perform the deployment of scheduled Storage Net Backup product updates and patches; Execute processes that meet compliance requirements and capabilities to meet regulatory requirements.
Integrate multiple technologies end to end; Maintain superior technical expertise in areas critical to J&J; Implement and support strategic architectures; Anticipated and resolve issues/barriers that impede progress; Meet or exceed customer requirements with respect to time, cost efficiency, & business value; Exhibit personal commitment to knowledge seeking and sharing behaviors by modeling those behaviors and conveying similar expectations to those in the organization; Ensure that J&J information assets are appropriately identified and valued, and are protected by complying with and enforcing all local and worldwide security policies. Ensure that security is considered and emphasized in all IM plans and actions.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required. A minimum of 5 years of technical leadership experience is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience with key project roles on large enterprise technology development projects is required. Engineering and operational experience with UNIX/Windows Server and storage platforms as it relates to tool and hardware solutions in the global enterprise is required. A strong understanding of key security issues and control mechanisms to protect internal systems and manage legal exposure related to subject area concerns, such as configuration management & assurance, instrumentation & monitoring, policy enforcement, and compliance is preferred. Experience with standard change management and configuration policies is preferred.
Extensive working experience in a large-scale global environment with HP Storage Arrays/Software is required; NetApp Filers/Software tools is preferred. Working experience with SnapshotCopy solutions and Brocade SAN design. Experience with enterprise level infrastructure environments (e.g. operating system, hardware, data center and servers) supporting one or more of the following environments Oracle, SAP, Veritas File System, Unix Volume Manager, GxP, FDA, Sarbanes-Oxley is required. Regulatory compliance experience is a plus. Knowledge and experience with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework or certification is preferred.
Experience in at least 4 of the following SAN technologies is required: Brocade and SAN zoning (DCFM/BNA), HP XP, EVA storage Arrays (XP12000, XP24000, P9500, EVA8000 and EVA8400), Command View, Performance Analyzer, Tier Storage Manager, Business Copy, Continuous Access, Array Microcode upgrades process, HP Storage Essentials, HP Command View XP, EVA, AE, Symantec NBU
Experience in the following Server Technologies is preferred: Windows 2003 (and/or later), HP UNIX 11.23 and later, Linux (Redhat), VMware, HP server blades and Titanium servers, Filesystems (LVM, VXVM, DMP, Secure Path).
Strategic thinker that is results driven and displays a sense of urgency. Strong team player with strong collaboration skills. Result driven multi-tasker able to execute efficiently on a variety of issues concurrently. Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate across all management and organizational levels. Responsible for meeting technical objectives in an assigned area.
