Purpose of Role
This position is responsible for conducting regulatory research; maintaining and developing regulatory policies and procedures; and assisting the business in its growth and development by advising on new products, jurisdictions, and acquisitions. The Specialist will ensure that the firm has proper supervisory procedures and at all times remains aware of its regulatory obligations, and is in a position to comply with them.

Compliance Officer/Specialist (Regulatory Research and Product Development)
Purpose of Role
This position is responsible for conducting regulatory research; maintaining and developing regulatory policies and procedures; and assisting the business in its growth and development by advising on new products, jurisdictions, and acquisitions. The Specialist will ensure that the firm has proper supervisory procedures and at all times remains aware of its regulatory obligations, and is in a position to comply with them.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Policies and Procedures necessary to comply with: Title VII of Dodd-Frank, CFTC regulations, NFA regulations, and other regulations promulgated by relevant regulatory authorities.
- Prepare periodic Risk Management Program reports to the governing body or relevant regulatory authorities
- Work with Compliance on the development and coordination of initial and ongoing training to employees on requirements impacting the Swap Dealer
- Assist with a gap analysis to identify and update all impacted policies, procedures and business operations globally based on new regulations implementing Dodd-Frank and similar regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with other business units on transfers of business, mergers and acquisitions, and integration projects
- Coordinate with other business units on launching new products, services, and initiatives
- Coordinate review of existing, new and proposed regulations that are relevant to the firm and communicate to the appropriate business lines
- Draft supervisory procedures for initiatives if applicable.
- Draft terms and conditions when necessary
- Review and produce compliance policies and procedures as needed to ensure that they are up to date
- Provide advice, analysis and/or resolution on compliance related concerns and queries to various departments
- Serve as project leader on projects as needed
- Review and approve client communications and/or promotional materials related as needed
- Assist in general responsibilities and designated tasks of the Compliance program
- Provide guidance to business units on acceptable practices and standards
- Provide business process improvement recommendations to the organization's management and staff

Essential
- An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics or other related field
- Two to four years Compliance or relevant department experience at a Retail Foreign Exchange Dealer or Broker Dealer
- Fundamental understanding of regulatory issues that could affect the firm
- Working knowledge of global regulatory requirements with respect to but not limited to Anti-Money Laundering, NFA/CFTC regulations, FSA and European regulations
- Working understanding of Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act as it pertains to Swap Dealers, RFEDs, and FCMs
- Self-starter and able to work with other departments and build smooth working relationships
- Team player and able to prioritize in a fast moving, constantly changing environment
- Strong research skills; analytical and problem solving skills; and attention to detail
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- A Juris Doctor, admitted and in good standing with a state bar
