Job Description:
A Kforce client is seeking an Assistant Director - Strategic Financial Analysis in New York, New York (NY).

Our client, a major Financial Institution is seeking an Associate Director Strategic Finance Analytics who has:


  • Responsibility for the development and deployment of analytical methods and tools within Strategic Finance

  • Assists in leading the development and implementation of analytical framework and tools for drive-based planning and forecast, statutory financial projection, capital planning and stress testing, tax planning strategies, and reinsurance optimization, focusing on consistency and standardization across different regions and functional areas

  • Assists in leading the refinement and regular publication of the market RAP pool and competitor analysis using the Shanghai Analytics Center resources

  • Assists in leading the RAP/Intrinsic Value refinement and enhancement effort, with a focus on the following areas

  • Economic balance sheet and income statement, fair value of insurance liabilities, market consistent embedded value

  • Working with product and distribution teams to increase the granularity and dimensions of the risk-adjusted profitability calculation and reporting

  • Embedded value (EV) and value-of-new business (VONB) for Directing Market and other long-duration businesses working closely with Consumer Market, Finance, and Product: (1) development of methods and assumptions, (2) calculation, reporting, and monitoring (3) applications of the concepts and metrics in the business decision, including review of business cases where capital required and justified based on VONB metrics

  • Use of the RAP and other economic metrics in the A&H / Life Pricing and ALM for long-duration products: Advise Consumer A&H pricing actuarial on best approach integrate RAP framework to pricing guidance and practice


Requirements:


  • Minimum of ten years of experience working in financial services industry, preferably with experience at property/casualty insurance companies, rating agencies, accounting firms, or related consulting firms

  • Masters degree

  • Extensive experience in the areas of financial budgeting, planning, and reporting, profitability analysis, capital calculation / allocation. Experiences in one or several of following areas are a plus: reserving, pricing, reinsurance, risk quantification, rating agency and investor communications

  • Good understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting rules; familiarity with regulatory and rating agency capital models; familiarity with key P&C insurance products, markets and competitors.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; good leadership and managerial skill; programming/technology skills are preferred VBA, SQL, database etc)

  • Memberships in actuarial societies, CFA Institute, etc, are preferred
